LE COMITE DE PILOTAGE / THE STEERING COMMITTEE
- Fédération Internationale des ligues des droits de l’Homme/International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), créée en 1922 par quelques ligues de défense des droits humains, en fédère aujourd’hui 155 dans 100 États. Elle coordonne et soutient les actions de ses ligues et leur apporte un relais sur le plan international. Son objectif immédiat est d’obtenir des améliorations concrètes dans les domaines de la protection des victimes, de la prévention des violations des droits de l’Homme et de la sanction de leurs auteurs. La FIDH et les ligues qui en sont membres sont non-partisanes, non-confessionnelles et indépendantes de tout gouvernement. Leur vocation est généraliste : elles défendent tous les droits humains et agissent au quotidien, dans leur pays, afin de lutter contre les violations des libertés et des droits fondamentaux.
- African Centre for Democracy and Human Rights Studies (ACDHRS). Established by the Government of The Gambia by an Act of Parliament in 1989, The Centre’s main objective is to give meaning to Article 25 of the African Charter, which requires States Parties to, “promote and ensure, through teaching, education and publication, respect of the rights and freedoms contained in the Charter and to see to it that these freedoms and rights, as well as corresponding obligations are understood.” The centre aims to compliment the African commission to serve the entire African continent in its unwavering mission of promoting human rights and democracy through training, action-oriented research, legal service, publications, documentation and networking.
- Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS) is a women’s non-governmental organization (NGO) working to engender the peace process in Africa. Since its inception in 1996, FAS has worked to foster, strengthen and promote the leading role of women in the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts on the African continent. FAS recognizes that women are disproportionately affected by violent conflicts. However, rather than perceiving women only as passive victims, FAS acknowledges that women are also active agents with skills, strengths, and the ability to bring about change.
- Women’s Aid Collective (WACOL), founded in 1997, is an independent, non governmental, non-profit organisation, dedicated and committed to helping women and young people in need. The aim of WACOL is to increase legal protection and fight for better choices for abused women and children, facilitate flow of information and experiences between organisation, and develop appropriate Information, Education and Communication materials that will be used in advocacy for human rights of women and young people.
- Women in Law and Development in Africa (WILDAF)a été créé en 1990 dans le but de promouvoir et renforcer des stratégies qui lient le droit au développement, pour l’émergence d’une culture de respect des droits des femmes en Afrique.Cette organisation est, au niveau régional, le seul réseau panafricain spécialisé dans la promotion des droits des femmes en tant que partie intégrante de la problématique du développement. Le réseau réunit 500 organisations et 1200 individus qui, répartis dans 27 pays, partagent les mêmes objectifs et luttent pour les concrétiser aux niveaux local, national et régional.
- Women and Law in South Africa (WLSA) is a regional non-governmental organisation (NGO) that conducts research about women’s human rights in seven countries of Southern Africa: Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
